Ironman WA, more podium for X Training athletes

A very tough day at the Ironman Western Australia this weekend, with the temperature over 90 degrees on the run course.

Despite the conditions, our athlete Finn Ingram had a great race starting with a blistering 53 min. swim, a 4:46 bike and a 3:30 run to finish with a new PR of 9:17 and 3rd at the very competitive 25-29AG. I believe Fin is our first athlete qualified for IM Hawaii!

Great performances at IM Az this weekend !

Just got back form Arizona where X Training was well represented. Despite a couple of athletes with illness (Joszef Major and Glynn Turquand) all of our athletes did really well. We have first timers having a blast and 3 new PB !!!! Congratulations guys !!!

What a great day, and I'm very proud of all of you that raced. I know how much and how hard you have trained for this and you were all great warriors out there...

Next season we have more races and more X Training athletes to shine ! IM NZ, 70.3 Cal, 70.3 New Orleans, IM Utah and much more....

Swim Race, Clearwater, Splash & Dash, more PB's

Another great week for X Training athletes.

Joe Courtney continues to improve his swim setting a new PB of 1:02 giving him a 7th overall and 2nd on AG position at the Tempe Lake 4k Swim race. Great confidence for IM Az this weekend Joe !

Also in Tempe, Jozsef Major came 1t Overall at the Splash and Dash (1,000m Swim, 3k Run) but could not wait for awards as he had to jump on his bike for 84 mile bike ride, his last prep for IM Az. What a mean coach uh?

At the Ironman World Championship 70.3 in Clearwater, Paul Stiekema finished the season with a great race and a PB in all 3 sports! Paul's, first year racing the 70.3 distance, finished in 4:33:57.

Gilbert Fisch (pictured here) also raced in Clearwater and after leading the competitive 50-54AG division for most of the race, was caught by a pack of "cheaters" that had fresh legs for the run. Gilbert also PR with a time of 4:34:19 finishing a great and long season. Time to rest a now GIlbert :)

Gilbert running at 70. Worlds

Sergio, being on the podium at Wildflower was the highlight of 2011 for me and one of the biggest accomplishment in 8 years of racing. Thank you for all your wonderful support, strategic planning and for sharing your wisdom with us. You make us all better athletes and I look forward to 2012. Marion Webb
