9 PR's at Ironman Hawaii and an Overall win for X Training Athletes

What a great weekend of racing for Sergio borges X Training athletes !!

First I would like to congratulate Tom Scherbart for his 1st place Overall  at the Hermosa Beach Triathlon.  Tom showed here that he can perform at high level even with a 45 hour work week !

Now GREAT NEWS from Ironman Hawaii!

I guess I should start with Clay Treska and his amazing finishing!!! Who could imagine, 12 months ago,  that Clay would be an Ironman here in Hawaii! He proved once again that Cancer can be beaten and he will for sure help others to also achieve their dreams. Great job Clay !

Our professional athlete Josef Major, did not have a good swim, was stucked in a slow pack and end up by himself. But Josef was determined and rode by himself posting a fast 4:39 bike split to get to T2 in 46-48th postion and with a blistering 2:47 run finished 22nd overall !!!

Peter Wood had a fantastic race and finished 2nd at the 65-69 AG with a time of 12:04 !!!! Podium tonight !!!!

Amy McGrath, had almost a perfect race (if it wasn't for the flat tire) finishing 2nd at 40-44 AG with a time of 10:08 (PR) !!!!! Amy ran a blistering 3:18 marathon here yesterday !!!

Christina Jackson, PR by almost 50 minutes on her second ever IM, finishing top 15 with a time of 10:42

Gayle Gajus, after a 1:25 swim was in 49th place on her 45-49 AG, but not problem for Gayle that pushed hard on the bike and run finishing an amazing 7th place with a time of 10:47!!!. Yes she passed 48 girls on her AG!!

Kelli Montgomery, was dealing with foot problems in the last few weeks that prevented her from biking and running properly, but it did not stop Kelli! She fought REALLY hard, endured the pain and finished with a great 11:17 !!! A PR !!!

Peter Harsch, set a new PR here in Kona with a time of 9:55 and PR run by 12 minutes !!!

Thank you athletes for putting it out out there yesterday. I know how hard each one of you pushed and I'm VERY proud! Can't wait for more next year !

Great Results once again this weekend !

We had another great week of racing with races all over the country and World.....

Hungarian National Champ - Olympic Distance

Just have a Facebook info but Jozsef Major finished 3rd Overall ! I know short distance is not the Ironman Champ "forte" so it was a very impressive result.

New York City Triathlon

Mike Johnston was 3rd on the PC division and Qualified for Worlds in Hungary !!!! Tough field but Mike proved he can now duel with the "big boys" ! Great job Mike !

Chris Chandler was 5th on the PC division and ALSO qualified for Worlds!!! - Another AMAZING result for Chris especially RIGHT after Ironman CDA. Chris showed what he can race fast even with tired legs. Proud of you Chris!

Chelanman Triathlon (Washington)

Leigh Stiekema - 2nd AG. Great result for Leigh, very close to win this time
Paul Stiekema - 10th Overal and 4th AG. I guess it does not get any easier as we get older

Strawberry Fields Triathlon

Steve Sutherland - Despite a rough swim, Steve placed 6th on his AG with a strong bike and a PR run !!!! Run is coming along as we predicted Steve, awesome job my friend!!!

Stamford Tri - CT

Unfortunately it turned to a Duathlon, not Kelli Montgomery (swimming background) preferred race choice, but it was not enough to defeat her!

Kelli finished 4th Overall (including all men!) and 1st overall female bringing home $200! Not bad for a mom with full time job, uh?

Vineman 70.3:

Carl Eibl - FIRST season and 3rd race ever! Our 50 years young friend finished with a impressive 5:35 !!!!

Congratulations Carl !!! I know we will see more great races form you !

Thank you all for training and racing hard and most importantly,  for believing in me and my coaching! As always I'm very proud of you and I know we will see more and more great results from everyone !
