Gibert Fisch

In 2005 after retiring from the "Real World", where I was a co-owner of a successful advertising and marketing agency, I decided to dedicate my life to my two passions: taking care of my wife (proud Houseman) and triathlon. Since my early childhood I was involved in sports from high level competitive swimming, amateur cyclist, cross-country to alpine skiing. But was only in 2002 that I found a sport that I really love, the triathlon.

I have always been autodidact when talking training. My experience, added to a certification in Advanced Studies in the psychological and mental training in sports, gave me the knowledge needed to be successful in the sport, with a few podiums at the local sprint triathlons and to be consecutively ranked top ten by the Swiss Triathlon Federation since 2003. My biggest accomplishment until then, was to be the runner up at the competitive 50-54 Age Group at the European Championship in 2008 in Lisbon, Portugal.

In November of 2008, I started to see a plateau on my performance and intense fatigue so decided that it was time for a change. Since then, I have been mentored and coached by Sergio Borges, using the new and innovative training method called, Inverted Periodization.

The success of this method speaks for itself:

* 1st place  50-54AG at IM 70.3 Switzerland
* I finished my first Ironman (Switzerland) in 10:02 hrs
* Qualified for the Ironman World Championship at 70.3 Monaco
* Personal Best of 4:34hrs at the 70.3 world Championship (with an absolutely clean, draft-free race!).

As part of the mentoring training program with Sergio Borges, I learned how to apply this successful training method to athletes of all ages and abilities with few or many hours available to train. I'm now bringing this training method to Europe with full German translated materials that includes, training manual, programs and soon pre-designed training plans. I believe this method will help many athletes that have now experienced a plateau, fatigue  or even lost the motivation to train. Soon you'll find more information about Gilbert Fisch X Training at www.gfxtraining.com.
