Sergio's Favorite Recovery Cereal

Often after a hard training session, most of us are tired, don't have a huge desire to prepare a complicated meal or snack, and yet we know this is one of the most important times to eat and refuel our bodies- especially if you are training multiple times per day. While we try to eat whole foods and avoid most prepared foods when possible- we all know this is nearly impossible and not always an option. Finding an easy recovery snack that tastes great will help you even more when preparing for your races, and building that recovery snack into your routine (ideally within an hour our less of completing a training session) will pay dividends over time in terms of faster recovery, more energy, and less muscle breakdown. We’ve found just that here… This favorite, super easy snack is a bowl of what we like to call ‘CARBOPRO RECOVERY CEREAL’…

This is packed with your essential macronutrients (fast, medium and slow absorbing proteins!) and loaded with recovery-enhancing BCAAs and glutamate peptides. This is a staple in the SBX Training household without fail— we even have it shipped to Thailand and load the suitcases with it when we come back from the US because it is just that good!

CARBOPRO RECOVERY CEREAL:

2 scoops of CARBOPRO INTERPHASE ( SWISS CHOCOLATE is my fave)
1-2 cups of Muesli (not the sugary kind!- read the label for no sugar added) you can find gluten free or a similar cereal if needed
1.5-2 cups of Almond Milk (check for unsweetened and the least processed the possible- or see our homemade almond milk recipe on SBXtraining.com)

sprinkle with your favorite toppings such as:

dried coconut shavings
chia seeds
hemp hearts
goji berries
or add fresh fruit to your liking

mix all the ingredients together in a big bowl and enjoy! Add more almond milk if you prefer.
